The Ejector e-slimcase is
a product I fell in love with--not instantly, but after I was given a few where
I work. (I’ll call it the Ejector, but others have called it a KickOut
case, Trigger case, ProTexx, Flip’n’Grip, Flip-n-Grip, Flip and Grip, PopOut,
Quickflip and Vario Pac or VarioPac) I eventually agreed to help sell them,
because I believe they’re great and people will love them when they see them.
With all the junk in the world, why not sell something useful and beautiful!
The Ejector e-slimcase is way
better than a CD jewel case or DVD retail package, but that’s not saying much!
It’s a bit more expensive, but not when you consider what it can save you in
lost opportunities, damaged media, broken cases and bad experiences we’ve all
had with the cheap hard plastic jewel cases for CD and the ugly black boxes for
DVD media. The Ejector can actually save you money on bubble envelope bulk
mailers and other shipping supplies for your CD/DVD/CD-R/DVD-R projects.
Let’s face it. Jewel cases are
awful! They only look good when brand new and treated with extreme care. But in
the home, office, car or boat, CDs and DVDs take a beating! Unfortunately,
standard jewel cases are hard to use and easy to break. It’s no wonder you see
these “free after rebates” so often. They were obviously made for selling the
product, not for using it. The hinges break, the covers split, the pieces can
come apart, and the hubs disintegrate!
The Ejector addresses these
problems with a totally different design in a totally different material (soft
plastic instead of brittle plastic), and while we don’t think you’ll find it
free in your local store, the folks who showed them to me are willing to send
you a ten-pack of them free so you can see what I’m talking about. You just pay
$6.95 shipping and handling. I don’t know how long they’ll offer this, but the
FREE CD/DVD CASES offer is here:
The Ejector slimcase is easy to
use too. Slide the media into the side opening and it’s held securely in the
non-data area of the media by the two side arms of the case and by the lever
arm, which the CD pushes back when it slides into the case. To extract the CD
or DVD, just press the lever arm trigger, which pushes the media only part of
the way out of the case, making it easy to remove but not likely to fall out on
its own.
When traveling, whether it’s with
data or music, it’s easy to be swamped by discs floating around the car or the
laptop computer case. Juggling CD/DVD cases while driving or balancing a
notebook computer in an airport lobby or airplane seat is no fun, and the
Ejector cases make it easier since you can easily pop out the disc in very
little space.
Ejectors do cost more, but the
cost of a jewel case should also be calculated by the impression it gives and
whether it fails to make the client or customer want to buy it or accept it,
keep it, and look at the disc inside. Jewel cases may be cheaper in the short
run, but they may cost more per great impression, per content viewed, per sale
or by some more realistic way of calculating the value of packaging your
creativity, your product, your data. Jewel cases cost money every time they
break, crack, seem common or fail to convey the unique content inside. The
Ejector grins a happy “Hello! This is important, artsy, practical, quality cool
stuff here!”
Yes the Ejector cases initially
cost a bit more, but of course that just depends on how you count costs. You
may find you decide to save some trees and money by not printing a paper
booklet to go with your CD/DVD, but instead put the info on the disc in
computer-readable format, or on a website with the URL printed on the label.
This can drive traffic to your site and multiply your opportunities to sell
even more products and services, tickets for shows, other works you’ve
published, even products from your own catalog or via affiliate marketing
programs.
If you have a beautiful CD/DVD,
why hide it behind a booklet with type too small to read anyway? The Ejector is
a great way to show off your perfect CD/DVD label, whether you use Neato,
CD-Stomper, or some other CD labeler program. Put those hours of hard work and
creativity into a really beautiful and functional case where your disc is the
main event!
In addition to the Ejector
slimcases, Ejector makes a cool clip, called an Ejector e-clip, which
slides into the open slot on the side of the Ejector slimcase. This handy,
inexpensive gadget protects the disc even better and also makes life simpler by
letting you hang the Ejector slimcase on a wall-rack post in a used CD/DVD
store, DVD rental shack or other business, or even a nail in your garage band’s
garage studio! The e-clip beats other wall hanging solutions because you can
grab the tenth item on the post without removing the nine in front of it. Just
pull the case off the clip, leave the clip on the post, and go!
If you want to keep a couple of
Ejectors together, it’s easy enough to glue, tape or band them together neatly
to make a homemade solution that looks great. For an even more elegant solution
that can keep up to ten Ejectors organized in a fairly calm environment, use an
e-sampler Ejector book cover. It’s a translucent cover that holds ten e-clips
and ten slimcases. Snap in the clips and just leave them in the sampler book,
then slide the Ejector slimcases onto the clips and you have an Ejector sampler
book of ten.
It takes a few minutes to get
used to the idea that you don’t just pop the CD/DVD out of the book by pressing
the lever. This would lead to less protection for the discs, even if it seems a
bit more convenient at first. Instead, pull the Ejector slimcase off the clip
and you have the disc and protection ready to go. Once you get used to the
idea, you may wonder why so many clumsy CD/DVD packaging systems are so hard to
use but offer less actual protection for your data—a CD/DVD case only provides
protection if you actually use it!
For an even more durable
presentation or archiving solution, or for traveling with discs in a rougher
environment, put some Ejector clips and slimcases into a binder or even on a
couple of plain keyrings! The e-clips fit the standard European A4 size binder,
readily available at your local office supply store here in the USA. The A4
binders have four rings, so there’s room to put two Ejector slimcases, one
above the other, keeping it all very neat and highly professional. The four
ring binder with dual slimcases bound in well definitely be an eye-opener for
your clients and customers!
Of course, if you want to use
standard three-ring binders, you can use the e-clips to hold the Ejector
slimcase there as well. It’s so cool! Unlike other systems where you glue a
pouch or case to the binder, the Ejector system lets you easily grab the case
from the clip (instead of grabbing the media with greasy fingers) without even
undoing the rings in the binder. The clip stays in the book, ready to use
later, and the CD/DVD is still in the case, ready to go but protected until you
need it!
The Ejector CD/DVD case system is
bound to cause some big buzz in the promotional marketing industry, but why
wait for those guys to catch on? If you’re looking for unique logo item,
especially one you can include that could include some marketing and sales
multimedia projects, create it yourself! Even if you just insert a simple
cardboard advertisement the size of a CD/DVD, the Ejector will be a favorite of
your clients. Just make sure to print some labels for the case or screen print
your logo on it, because even if they trash your insert, they’ll keep this
beauty! Pop your custom logo Ejector slimcases in the mail and you’ve reached
your target audience with a winner. Your logo will be there as they tell their
friends and coworkers, “Hey, look at this handy CD case! Simple! Why didn’t I
think of that?”
Self publishers and CD/DVD
replication services can use our bulk box cases, and even self-publishing
musicians, artists, writers and programmers can get a box of 200 for their
homebrew projects, either in black-lever or rainbow-collection boxes. If you
ship a lot of data updates, catalog revisions, photography, layout &
design, or other oft-revised material, the Ejector slimcase can be a real
friend. It’s easy to protect and mail the CD/DVD when you know the case won’t
crack if you just look at it!
Even if you have a problem with
clutter, you can protect your data. Instead of having all those CD-R and DVD-R
disks trashing your desk, put them in an Ejector. You can still leaving them
lying around all over the desk, the floor and every other vertical space, but
they’ll be protected.
X-Box and Playstation and other
games on CD/DVD fit the Ejector, and wouldn’t it be much better to have these
in a case instead of skiffing along the shag? Children and the adults who play
games with them are not always known to take the trouble to pop that game disc
back into the cumbersome retail packaging, which is, after all, not designed to
be handy protection but to sell you the product unopened in the store!
And if you’re not so untidy,
Ejector slimcases are a great way to preserve your CD/DVD collection to
perfection. Keep the original cases, printed matter and discs in perfect
condition, and use your backup disc in a handy Ejector.
The Ejector is a serious ergonomic boost for anyone with limited
dexterity. It’s a great CD/DVD case for physically-challenged persons with
limited fine motor control in their fingers, hands, wrists or arms: it’s easy
to pop a CD/DVD halfway out with one easy motion, then place the disc and
holder on the table to remove the disc with the same hand. Compared with
standard CD jewel boxes and DVD display cases, the Ejector is a blessing for
the physically challenged.
The Ejector is a smart solution
for automobile use, for your audio/mp3/dvd/mpg/mpeg collections, home recording
studio music projects, digital video movies, data storage, software upgrades,
catalog updates, multimedia audio & video recording archives, audiovisual
presentations, independent film productions and independent visual or musical
artist projects, promotional advertising, marketing and consulting projects,
desktop studio productions, portfolio presentations and homebrew CD-R/DVD-R
creations. It’s also handy for protecting updates to topographic maps, custom
GPS maps and other GIS data becoming so popular since the advent of inexpensive
handheld GPS units and the rise of the geocaching scene.
Whatever you do with CDs and DVDs
the Ejector offers simple, reliable, beautiful, handy protection for your
creative efforts. I really love these cool CD/DVD cases. I hope you will too!
